Chronometer with “ALPINA” signatura
Silver pocket chronometer with ALPINA signature with brown pigskin cover for carriage dashboard. ALPINA: It all started in 1883 with the founding of the “Swiss Watchmakers Corporation” whose objective was to reduce the price of watch components by regrouping purchases. The concept was quickly successful and the Association began to produce its own calibers. At that time it had the representation of several countries such as Germany, Eastern countries and Northern Europe. In 1901, the Corporation adopted the name “Union horlogère” and registered the “Alpina” trademark, which would appear exclusively on the dial of superior quality watches. A jump in time takes us to 1938, the year Alpina presented the Alpina 4 model which, as its name suggests, has four important qualities: anti-magnetism, water resistance, Incabloc shockproof system and stainless steel case. It also incorporates one of the most robust calibers of its generation, the Alpina Manufacture Caliber 592 with manual winding, which will continue to be used for many years to come.
